About

John Rivera, M.Ed.
Keynote Speaker & Wellness Educator

John Rivera is a veteran of the US Navy and the US Army National Guard. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Education.

During graduate school, he launched johnonjuan.org, a public health and nutrition blog. It was created as a reflection outlet to express his ideas and perspectives.

As a result, his ideas and posts were shared internationally, and soon thereafter he was selected to become an Ambassador for the Institute for Responsible Nutrition.

As a military servicemember, he has deployed several times in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Through his experiences in diverse settings to include combat, corporate, and academic environments, he has experienced first-hand the health & wellness challenges of Servicemembers and the everyday, busy professional.

In 2014, John founded Primal Platoon Inc, with the philosophy that, “know-how” is not enough for Servicemembers to stay healthy & fit.  According to John, in order to improve military wellness, there is a NEED for empowerment, health education, and a culture of care.
